Ben Mertz
Dr. Ben Mertz has been an elder at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church since 2020. He received his PhD. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at a local college. He has been married to his wife, Jessica, since 2009. Together they have 7 children. While Ben was saved at a young age, he began learning about and subscribing to reformed theology while he and his family lived in Chandler, AZ before moving to Terre Haute in 2018. He has a passion for teaching and learning and seeing people grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus.
Drew Sparks
Drew grew up in a pastor’s home and was acquainted with the sacred writings from an early age, which led him to faith in Christ. Near the end of college, he began pursuing pastoral ministry and theological training. While ministering at a church in California, he completed his MA at Veritas Evangelical Seminary. Drew moved to Louisville Kentucky, where he attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received his PhD in Systematic Theology. He pastored two churches in Kentucky before being called to serve as an Elder at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church in 2021. He married Theresa in 2010 and together they have 5 daughters.
Dave Zemmer
Dave is certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). He also holds an MA in biblical counseling from The Master’s University and a BS in mechanical engineering. He retired from the mission field after 30 years in Brazil. During his time there, Dave served as a pastor, planted churches, and developed courses in biblical counseling, which he taught at the college level. He also has a decade of flight and maintenance experience from his time as a missionary. After retiring, Dave moved to Terre Haute and was called as an elder at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church in 2016. Dave has been married to Patty since 1976 and together they have three children and eleven grandchildren.
